Muonium hydride: The lowest density crystal

چکیده

A muonium hydride molecule is a bound state of and hydrogen atoms. It has half the mass parahydrogen very similar electronic properties in its ground state. The phase diagram an assembly such particles investigated by first-principles quantum simulations. In bulk limit, low-temperature equilibrium crystal extraordinarily low density, lower than that any other known atomic or molecular crystal. Despite density particle mass, melting temperature surprisingly high (close to 9 K). No (metastable) supersolid observed. We physical nanoscale clusters (up 200 particles) found superfluid response be greatly enhanced compared clusters. possible experimental realization these systems discussed.Received 13 March 2021Accepted 23 April 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevResearch.3.023113Published American Physical Society under terms Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. On Lowest Density MDS Codes

Let q denote the finite field GF (q) and let b be a positive integer. MDS codes over the symbol alphabet b q are considered that are linear over q and have sparse (“low-density”) parity-check and generator matrices over q that are systematic over bq . Lower bounds are presented on the number of nonzero elements in any systematic parity-check or generator matrix of an q-linear MDS code over bq, ...

Muonium Decay

Modifications of the μ+ lifetime in matter due to muonium (M = μ+e−) formation and other medium effects are examined. Muonium and free μ+ decay spectra are found to differ at O(αme/mμ) from Doppler broadening and O(αme/mμ) from the Coulomb bound state potential. However, both types of corrections are shown to cancel in the total decay rate due to Lorentz and gauge invariance respectively, leavi...

Crystal Structure of the Superconducting Phase of Sulfur Hydride

A superconducting critical temperature above 200 K has recently been discovered in H2S (or D2S) under high hydrostatic pressure1, 2. These measurements were interpreted in terms of a decomposition of these materials into elemental sulfur and a hydrogen-rich hydride that is responsible for the superconductivity, although direct experimental evidence for this mechanism has so far been lacking. He...

Charge Density Analysis in Magnesium Hydride

Magnesium is considered one of the most promising materials for reversible hydrogen storage, because it has high storage capacity. However, the high thermodynamic stability of magnesium hydride is unfavorable for dehydrogenation processes. Understanding the bonding nature of Mg and H is essential for improving its dehydrogenation performance. Therefore, the charge density distribution in MgH2 w...

Muonium Spectroscopy

The electromagnetic interactions of electrons and muons can be described to very high accuracy within the framework of standard theory, in particular within the hydrogen-like muonium atom. Therefore precision measurements allow to test basic interactions in physics and to search for yet unknown forces. Accurate values for fundamental constants can be obtained. Results from experiments on the gr...
